Knowing basic garment details like the ones in part one and two is tantamount to figuring out your personal style. Without the language to describe what you like, it’s hard to truly understand it, even harder to search for and find it, and nearly impossible to execute it consistently as a result.

But even beyond knowing what fabrics or necklines you feel best in, it’s important to understand the context behind what we wear. What trends best represent certain decades and where did they come from? What does “black tie” mean and how is it different from “white tie?” And what on earth is an “aesthetic” and how do you know which one you fit?
